Water-based underfloor heating transfers heat through a large floor surface. Uponor offers systems for different constructions, so the same solution will not necessarily suit a new house and a room being renovated. S07

Pipe spacing is not chosen using one rule for the whole house. Room heat demand, permissible floor temperature, floor covering and the complete construction matter. Circuit lengths, flow rates and controls also need to be coordinated. Closer spacing does not automatically mean a better design.

A screeded system such as Uponor Classic has specific components and installation solutions. Buying pipes alone is not a complete underfloor heating design. S08

Before screeding, check circuit labels, test documents and the manifold location. Photos of pipe routes are useful for planning future drilling or other work. The floor covering and its suitability must be agreed before final system selection.

Before ordering: provide a floor plan, proposed floor covering and details of the house insulation. Ask not only for the pipe quantity but also for an explanation of how circuits will be selected and adjusted.
