An attractive basin or tap does not show where its connections need to be. Different ranges have different dimensions, outlet locations and compatibility requirements. For example, the furniture and basin design can substantially change the space remaining underneath for a trap and pipes. S21
Choose at least the main products before preparing pipework: basin, vanity unit, WC, concealed frame and taps. The installer needs product codes and technical drawings, not just a shop photo. In particular, do not confuse a concealed tap's internal body with its visible trim.
It must be clear whether heights are measured from the unfinished base or the future finished floor. The final wall thickness also matters. Agreeing these points helps prevent a pipe meeting a cabinet drawer or a trim component no longer fitting.
It is useful to make one fixture schedule listing the code, drawing and confirmed installation location for each item. S22
Before ordering: prepare links to the selected products and a bathroom plan. If fixtures have not yet been chosen, do not treat preliminary connections as final; allow a clear coordination stage.
